Tonight is the 3rd race of the 2009 AKM Monday Night Money Series Presented by the Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Last week at California featured great racing in both the A and B Server Races. In the B Server, Randy Hockaday took home the victory and the $12 that came with it for Owner Dave Lanza. Brian Perski, Jarett Foulds, Allen Lewis, and John Gregorio rounded out the top 5. In the Main Event, new comer Bert Jones crossed the finish line in 1st place and won $40 for Owner Bill Schoonover. It got even better for Schoonover as Jones’ teammate, Greg Wellen finished in 2nd and captured $20. Ray Alfalla, Ron Rigdon, and Pedro Mojica rounded out the top 5. As of now Ray Alfalla holds a 27 point lead over Harrison Widelitz. Bert Jones sits 3rd in points, 29 points behind Alfalla. Ron Rigdon and Daytona winner Matt Vassar sit tied for 4th, 35 points behind Alfalla. Tonight should be a very race at Las Vegas. Las Vegas is a fast high banked 1.5 mile racetrack that provides great racing action. Practice should start at around 7:30 EST. Knockout Qualifying should take place at around 8:45 EST. Qualifying in both servers should start at around 9:15 EST with the green flag dropping at around 9:30 EST. Tomorrow night is the 3rd race of the 2009 AKM Sunday Night Cup Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Last week at California was one of the worst races this writer has ever seen, especially at a track that usually features long green flag runs. With a total of 16 cautions for 68 laps out of the 125 laps. There was more pacing and driving one handed under caution then racing and wheelin’ the thing. Hopefully the racing is more cleaner and better for the rest of the year. In the end Pedro Mojica kept his car clean and wheeled it to victory lane. Chad Coleman and Tim Beard finished 2nd and 3rd respectively. Guy Snyder IV and Carl Dodson rounded out the top 5. As of now Daytona winner Guy Snyder IV has a 10 point lead over Chad Coleman. Pedro Mojica sits 60 points behind his teammate Guy Snyder IV in 3rd. Bud Boykin and Chris Pence round out the top 5 and are right behind Mojica in the points. Hopefully tomorrow night will be a better race then the first 2 races of the season. Las Vegas is a fast high banked 1.5 mile race track that usually provides great racing and finishes. Drivers will need to take it easy and save their equipment for the end of the race. Gambling, beer drinking, and picking up fine looking females will take place from 2:30 EST to 6:00 EST. Recovery will then take place from 6:00 EST to 7:30 EST. Practice should start at around 7:30 EST. Qualifying should take place at around 8:30 EST with the green flag dropping shortly after.
